The guide in the OP is right - Shin Ramyun is the bomb and comes in pretty large servings. One pack can easily make enough for two servings if you cook it well, but using a whole packet of flavoring will make that shit hella spicy. Sapporo Ichiban is my go-to brand for normal ramen.

I store lots of Samyang ramen at my flat, makes standard Norwegian ramen taste like nothing.

I don't know if anyone else does this, but sometimes I make ramen by cooking the noodles and flavor in water in a pot on the stove. I cook it on high until almost all the water boils away, and what's left is noodles that kind of have a light sauce on them.

I once did something like that with Norwegian ramen, it turned into a disgusting ramen paste thing. Maybe it works better with legit stuff. Sa-v

I've burned ramen this way. ;p

Know what's also awesome? Broccoli salad with crunched up ramen noodles! (broccoli, enough mayo to coat it, a splash of mirin, one pack of noodles)

I often feel surprised that there are flavors of ramen that aren't beef.

I like the pork flavored one best, but it seems to be hard to come by...

The grocery store here sells Good Noodles and Super Noodles. Have yet to check and see if the Super Noodles are actually better tasting or what have you.

I've been eating the hell out of these lately, which is rather surprising as I've always hated the ordinary chicken flavored ramen.

When it comes to the normal rectangle package ramen, I enjoy the beef and oriental flavor ones the most, and I like to add bits of meat, vegetables, and hot sauce if I have them available.
